Is Guild Wars still alive?
I played Guild Wars a few years ago but I am looking at getting back into it. I haven't played Factions or the expansion yet. However, I'm concerned it might be a bit of a ghost town. I remember when I first started playing I could get groups easily, and then in Nightfall I had a harder time finding groups. I don't like going solo as I like the social aspect of going in a group.
So, my question is, if I get Factions and Eye of the North, will there still be a sufficient community to form groups with to complete missions? |

I see people looking for groups and (new) guildies doing campaigns. There are quiet places where you'll have to rely on the people in your guild to join - and maybe not for the full 8 players.
The Zaishen bounties bring people together to group in PUGs again, but that is likely not going to help for doing the campaign. |

Sad sad story...
but there are still few of us doing occasional RA, speed clears, event farming, getting stuff for nicholas and similar. (talking about old dedicated players) And you wonder why there isn't any skill updates... |

Weekend events keep it alive, as do Bounties and certain areas of PvP, but not all. It's fine on the weekends, but weekdays can get a bit scarce, as people have lives to live, and such.

GW is far from dead. There are fewer PUG-ers around, but you can PUG perfectly well with 3 human players and a bunch of heroes. Sometimes you have to district-hop to get players, because not everybody uses the party search function, but it's almost always possible to get a few.

Its sort of dead.
You can still pvp, but pvp nowadays is more about politics than skill. |

PvP has gone down hill recently without any new content but PvE is alive and well in GW's today. The majority of the new content has been exclusively for pve'ers. So if that is what type of game your looking for then GW is still a good game for a good price. For example, our guild had 3 different sc's formed on ventrilo all at the same time(Kath sc, Rragar sc, DoA). All you need to do is find an active guild that caters to your need.

What kind of a friendly big bad ass community are you guys ? There are still towns where you have to fight to get to district 1 America, and you chase away new players? |

GW never dies.
American districts are always filled with people. If you find a good guild you want have problem finding a group to do stuff. And to the rest of the people here: Why are you posting on the forums of a "dead" game? |

GW is pretty much alive, american districts are crowded, lots of pvp. if you just find a guild that suits you, and/or play with some friends, you will have alot of fun.

OT: It`s far from dead. It may not be as populated as it was in it`s days of glory, but it`s still crowded with players (and a lot of new ones too). |

Wow all the negative people.
I take big breaks from gw and hey, it's still alive game. Sure you won't find easily a group for Minar in Shiverpeaks, but you can easily find a group for Zaishen Bounties (you'll learn what it is), which means you'll always have people to play with if you want. Also, JOIN THE GUILD, and one with full ALLIANCE. Those who don't want to take minimum steps to surround themselves with other active players don't have right to complain about inability to find groups. |

It's going to feel dead if you're not doing Z-Quests or in an active guild.

GW is not completely dead.
but it is crap. it does not have the enjoyment factor it used to have, and for that reason i advise you to keep to whatever you are doing. and wait for GW2 which hopefully wont turn out the way gw did. pz |
